We all deserve to be happy every single day. Sure, there are some days where we feel like we are deep in the dump pit and being happy never seemed possible.
Don’t forget, happiness is definitely something that we can control as it is all in our mind. Next time round whenever you feel stressed, depressed or dejected, consider the practices below and i hope that they can help you as much as they have helped me!
Practice Self Gratitude. Take a time out. Go to a quiet corner, spare 5-10 minutes to yourself with no digital gadgets etc. List down and reflect on things that you are grateful for. Some people prefer to write it down, i prefer to just sit and reflect everything in my head. In shaa Allah, the sense of bliss and happiness will eventually seep in and you will will definitely feel better. Personally, i love doing my self reflections after my daily prayers.
Do something for yourself daily. This practice does not have to be extravagant and elaborate. Do something simple. Like have a home facial after a long day at work or treat yourself to any form of comfort food. When you reward yourself, you are also acknowledging the effort you put in the day and that will definitely bring up the happiness level eventually.
Make time with your loved ones. Most of us have a certain structure of support system consisting of our loved ones whom we would confide to. Make time to catch up with them, talk about the day, laugh at the silliest things and seek/give knowledge with one another. Having a support system is good because it reminds us that we have people who love us and rely upon on our darkest days.
